Your Tweets Can Land You In Jail

Twitter fights have become almost an everyday thing on "naija Twitter". Its not uncommon to see two or more people call themselves out and describe each other with such unflattering words that would make even a heartless drone cringe. Some countries have started holding people accountable for their tweets and it seems Nigeria is following in their footsteps with the recent rumours that the actress Tonto Dikeh might face jail time for a picture of her holding a wrap of weed she uploaded on twitter. I hope She drops the soap...ah i digress.

Legislators in Grenada have gone a step further, they have passed a bill into law that holds people liable for their tweets, in Grenada it has become a criminal offence to insult somebody or organization on any social network especially Twitter. Grenada's legal affairs Minister Mr Elvis Nimrod told the AP: "we have problems when some use the technology to engage in mischief". If you insult someone's name or character you could face a fine of $37,000 or up to 3 years in jail, the Associated Press reported.
The Law itself might be harder to implement than it looks because everybody might feel slighted by some other persons crude jokes or remarks. It would suck to be a judge in grenada at the moment because some people might bring very irrelevant cases to court.
it might also take the excitement out of social media because people would have to watch what they say or do online.

Grenada is known for their exotic beaches and resorts
People logon to their social network accounts and become a more daring version of themselves they say what they like and promote whatever kind of behaviour they deem fit. They provoke people they would never have had contact with if not for social media. As sickening as this "Trollism" is, it sometimes creates excitement and adds to the allure of this social networks.

Personally I think people should be liable for their tweets, that  "i am not my tweets" argument is not tenable. The internet allows free speech and Twitter themselves haven't placed restrictions on how people should act but you know as with everything free people tend to take it for granted. What is your take on this? Should social media be censored? Please use the comment section.

TECNO PHANTOM A1: FULL REVIEW

I recently walked into a store at the computer village in Ikeja,Lagos and i saw people huddled around a manufacturers cubicle testing out a new phone, i was amazed to find out it was a Tecno phone that drew such a crowd, not just any Tecno "Kpalasa" phone but a nice looking white device that could be easily mistaken for a samsung galaxy device or even HTC. The Tecno Phantom A1 was released a few weeks ago, it received rave reviews and was being compared to the Samsung Galaxy S3 its critically acclaimed as the best budget Smartphone in the market. I've decided to do this review now as the buzz around the phone has reduced and a review can be done in a cooler atmosphere and without sentiments. OVERVIEW Starting with the packaging, Tecno has really improved with the packaging and presentation of this phone. it comes in a glossy box with all the spec details of the phone printed on the back. Out of the box, it comes with a set of earphones, usb cab

INTRODUCING THE NEW iPAD AIR: FULL REVIEW

Apple unveiled the iPad Air a couple of weeks back and it’s a  breathtaking  masterpiece reminiscent of the innovation Apple has been known for. Apple revolutionized mobile computing with the release of the original iPad 1 in 2010 and since then they have maintained a vice-like grip on the Tablet Market which they almost single handedly created. OVERVIEW The new iPad is a refresh of the apple iPad line-up , it has a sleeker design whose inspiration was taken directly from the new iPad mini, Apple claims the device is faster, thinner and lighter than the iPad 4 and at first glance it bears no resemblance  to the latter ,  which justifies the rebranded name iPad Air. Apple has managed to hold of other Manufacturers who want a slice of the their Tablet Market share and this device along with its pint sized relative the iPad Mini are meant to fly the banner for them in 2014 would this innovation be enough to fight off the competition? We were able to spend a few days with the

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE iPHONE 5S FINGERPRINT SCANNER

Biometrics have become a part of our daily lives in many ways than one and to have them on our smartphones wouldn't be such a bad idea. Apple as its their custom to set trends when it comes to revolutionary smartphone features and hardware have begun to chart this course, other manufactures such as Samsung have flirted with the idea with rumours that we might be getting a fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Note III set to be announced later in Q4 of this year but they have since rescinded that decision for logistics reasons. Apple can barely hide developments they are working on these days, different information about the upcoming iPhone 5S and 5C have leaked all over the internet, this is a new trend from Apple and i'm beginning to believe it might be a marketing stunt of some sort to get people excited about the phones, if that is their plan though i congratulate them because its working, i have been intrigued by the changes Apple recently brought to iOS 7 , the new featu
