Sony Launches SmartWatch 2

Sony's foray into wearable tech started with their iconic Sony Walkman  series of the 90's, they plan to revisit that golden era and today launched their new smartwatch, the SmartWatch2, The smartwatch is a unibody aluminium watch that sports Sony's design language, it shares features with other sony Xperia Z brand of products.Sony doesnt want the watch to be a geek only affair but more of a fashion statement, so the watch will be available with a variety of strap styles and colors.

The watch can serve as an alternate screen for your phone when they are synched together. It would let you control the camera shutter, take phone calls and have a quick glance at maps without having to pull your phone out of your pocket or pouch while driving or on the move.

The watch comes loaded with android and NFC capabilities which enables pairing with other android devices. It is also waterproof  with an IP57 rating. At 1.6inches ,The watch comes with a bigger display than its predecessor and at 220 X 176 pixel resolution favours improved outdoor and daylight viewing.

Should other brands of wearable tech or smartwatches be scared? Since sony recently made the smartwatch available to developers to build apps specifically for the watch should increase the appeal of the watch. I believe with a good marketing budget any thing is possible.

Apple can barely hide developments they are working on these days, different information about the upcoming iPhone 5S and 5C have leaked all over the internet, this is a new trend from Apple and i'm beginning to believe it might be a marketing stunt of some sort to get people excited about the phones, if that is their plan though i congratulate them because its working, i have been intrigued by the changes Apple recently brought to iOS 7 , the new featu...
