iOS 7: PICTURES AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Apple announced iOS 7 at WWDC this week. Today we bring you an in depth
Review of the OS. Many iPhone and iOS users have been clamouring for a fresh breath of air in the look and feel of iOS. iOS 7 is already bein touted by apple as the biggest break away from the norm since it announced its first generation iPhone back in 2007. Personally I think the comparison is a little far fetched because most of the functions are already available on other platforms like windows phone and Android. I have included snapshots of the iOS 7 key functions. However let's take a look at the goodies.......

LOCK SCREEN:

the new lock screen takes the personality of your wallpaper. Its not a far departure from what's available on android jellybean.

HOME SCREEN

This is the new home screen in iOS 7. Apple redesigned all of its icons for this major update, including Mail, Settings, iTunes, Game Center, Photos, Safari and more.

NOTIFICATION CENTER

The new Notification Center in iOS 7, activated by swiping down from the top, shows all your missed notifications from all your applications, as well as a general digest of your day at the top.

CONTROL CENTER

Apple has finally listened to iOS users and included a new control centre feature where users can quickly toggle control functions such as, Bluetooth, airdrop, WiFi, music, brightness and more.

PHONE APP

The phone app in iOS 7 has been simplified and redesigned with flatter colors and larger photos of your contacts that take up the whole screen, which could be scary when your boss calls.

SAFARI BROWSER

Apple's Safari web browser has been completely redesigned in iOS 7. The URL and search boxes have been unified into an omnibar for search, which was also redesigned, and users can now have unlimited tabs; in iOS 6 and prior versions, users could only keep up to 8 tabs. It has also been optimized to save battery and increase functionality.

ITUNES RADIO

The redesigned iTunes app in iOS 7 includes a new feature called iTunes Radio, which is a new music streaming service that allows users to listen to, create and customize their own music stations. Users can also purchase any song they hear with just a simple tap.

SIRI: NEW AND IMPROVED

Siri is much improved for iOS 7. Now, web results are listed directly in Siri, so you never have to leave your conversation with your personal AI assistant just to get the information you need.

CAMERA APP

The redesigned camera app in iOS 7 allows users to easily switch between different camera modes, including photos, square photos, videos, and panoramas. iOS 7 also comes with photo filters built in, so users can snap photos with the filter they want instead of applying it later.

NEW FIND MY IPHONE

Find My iPhone is now much improved for iOS 7. Users now need their Apple ID and password to turn off Find My iPhone or erase their device completely. Find My iPhone can also display a custom message, even after the device is erased, which again requires one's Apple ID and password for full reactivation.

these are the most eye-popping features at the moment but it would be nice to have a device running iOS 7 on hand to get a real feel of the os but I'm afraid we will have to wait till later this fall ( that will be sometimes between august and September ). What are your thoughts about the new iOS please use the comment box to share what you think are the pros and cons of Apple's new iOS.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE iPHONE 5S FINGERPRINT SCANNER

Biometrics have become a part of our daily lives in many ways than one and to have them on our smartphones wouldn't be such a bad idea. Apple as its their custom to set trends when it comes to revolutionary smartphone features and hardware have begun to chart this course, other manufactures such as Samsung have flirted with the idea with rumours that we might be getting a fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Note III set to be announced later in Q4 of this year but they have since rescinded that decision for logistics reasons. Apple can barely hide developments they are working on these days, different information about the upcoming iPhone 5S and 5C have leaked all over the internet, this is a new trend from Apple and i'm beginning to believe it might be a marketing stunt of some sort to get people excited about the phones, if that is their plan though i congratulate them because its working, i have been intrigued by the changes Apple recently brought to iOS 7 , the new featu
