NOKIA LUMIA 1020: 41 MEGAPIXELS OF PURE INNOVATION

Nokia has finally announced the Nokia Lumia 1020 this happened at an event organised in New York City held to launch the Smartphone. The much rumoured 41 Megapixel Smartphone that makes the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom look like an obese dwarf. The Lumia 1020 takes advantage of the pureview technology that Nokia debuted on the Nokia 808 pureview. Nokia has had to wade through muddy waters for the past few years but as Nokia's CEO stephen Elop said nokia has turned the "Next chapter in Smartphone Photography".

Nokia also confirmed most of the specs that have been floating around the rumour mill lately, the Lumia 1020 will come with 2.0GB of RAM which is a first for WP8 since the OS is so light but we believe most of that RAM would be used for image processing. Nokia also confirmed that it would be powered by  2000mAh battery and a 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 System-on-Chip processor favored by the manufacturer as its used in most of their other Lumia Devices. Nokia is not one to compromise/sacrifice their device's form factor  just because of specs this phone retains the same form factor as seen on other high-end Lumia phones and its only 10.4mm thick. it has a 4.5" 720p display and 32gb of Flash(Internal Storage). The Lumia 1020 does not have wireless charging but Nokia has a wireless charging pouch that would come at an extra cost and also a Camera Grip pouch that would give the phone extra battery, a dedicated shutter button and also make the phone adaptable to tripod stands also at an extra cost.It would come in three colors White, Yellow and Black

The Lumia 1020 stayed true to the rumours and Nokia did not tone down any of its 41 Megapixel goodness however you have the option to shoot in the maximum resolution depending on the aspect ratio. The 1020 is not just another camera phone trying to win the MegaPixel cold war, Nokia has put in place futuristic technology to make the image quality in this device above par. The optics package of this phone contains six Carl Zeiss lenses  which nokia claims to be the most ever used in any mobile smartphone and they are resting on ball bearings so as to improve image stability, so even if you have shaky hands or you are trying to capture a motion shot the Lumia 1020 would always produce top quality pictures. Nokia did not delay in flaunting their camera's quality and they showed comparisons with other high-end camera phone

Nokia has really done a lot of research and they didn't not just stick an optical zoom lens behind the phone, instead they have packaged a lot of software tweaks to handle image processing so as to give users the best image quality and consume the least space on your hard drive.Nokia Has totally changed the Camera App and optimized it for the Lumia 1020, they have included lots of manual toggles and plan to release the SDK so that third-party developers can take advantage of the camera and implement it into their own applications as well.

The Lumia 1020 would go on sale in the US on july 26 but it would be limited to only AT&T and would be really pricey coming in at $300 on a 2 year Contract. The phone would also go on sale to the rest of the world later this quarter in Europe, Asia and Latin America no word on when it would be available in Nigeria and the rest of Africa yet  be sure to subscribe to our blog for updates on this device as this would happen sooner than later, however its time to start putting money in that old piggy bank again while we wait for the phone to arrive here in Africa. Biometrics have become a part of our daily lives in many ways than one and to have them on our smartphones wouldn't be such a bad idea. Apple as its their custom to set trends when it comes to revolutionary smartphone features and hardware have begun to chart this course, other manufactures such as Samsung have flirted with the idea with rumours that we might be getting a fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Note III set to be announced later in Q4 of this year but they have since rescinded that decision for logistics reasons. Apple can barely hide developments they are working on these days, different information about the upcoming iPhone 5S and 5C have leaked all over the internet, this is a new trend from Apple and i'm beginning to believe it might be a marketing stunt of some sort to get people excited about the phones, if that is their plan though i congratulate them because its working, i have been intrigued by the changes Apple recently brought to iOS 7 , the new featu
