AIRTEL NIGERIA UNVEILS NEW BBM DATA PLANS

Airtel Nigeria, one of Nigeria's top service providers has unveiled a new data plan designed specifically for BBM chatting. Since Blackberry released the cross platform application, we at technerd have been anticipating whether our service provider would create a special data bundle that would support the application.

This new data bundle is designed to allow unlimited data usage for only the blackberry Messenger application based on the user's subscription. it allows unrestricted access for family and friends to chat on BBM on either a daily, weekly or monthly basis.  To subscribe to the new BBM Bundles for smartphone users, customers are to dial:

  • *440*22# for the monthly plan that cost N300
  • *440*23# for the weekly plan that cost N200
  • *440*24# for the daily plan that cost N100

These special bundles would greatly alleviate the cost of data subscription for the teeming number of smartphone users. It also shows that Airtel still has an innovative bone in them. The Service provider which has gone through so many managements has lagged behind in terms of innovations but they have managed to outsmart their competition. In the official press release, the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Airtel, Deepak Srivastava said “The demand for BlackBerry Messenger on smartphones is unprecedented and as a company that thrives on innovation and customer satisfaction, we had to be swift in providing our customers with added value and further delight their BB service experience with the BBM bundle plans. In addition, the offering will enable our customers to experience the efficacy and robustness of Airtel’s 3.75g service”. This is definitely going to snag them some customers in the near future as many users are adopting the BBM craze by the millions on a daily basis.

INFINIX RACE EAGLE: FULL REVIEW

I've heard a lot about the Infinix Race Eagle but i did not take much interest in it because its a subsidiary of a manufacturer ( Alcatel )   that has a bad reputation in Telecommunications industry . However in the past few months the Infinix brand  has began to gain traction in the Nigerian smartphone market as they have been striking deals with various service providers to make their smartphone available to more people around the country. Infinix is being recognized as one of the best budget smartphones in the market today with a few competitors such as the Tecno Phantom A1 which I did a full review on here .I decided to do a full review on this device too because it has definitely caught a lot of people's attention. OVERVIEW Straight out of the box the infinity Race Eagle is an unassuming phone, its a slightly hefty device with a 5.0" capacitive touch-screen across the diagonal. The design of the phone is not so impressive however Infinix has managed to ke...

iOS 7: PICTURES AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Apple announced iOS 7 at WWDC this week. Today we bring you an in depth Review of the OS. Many iPhone and iOS users have been clamouring for a fresh breath of air in the look and feel of iOS. iOS 7 is already bein touted by apple as the biggest break away from the norm since it announced its first generation iPhone back in 2007. Personally I think the comparison is a little far fetched because most of the functions are already available on other platforms like windows phone and Android. I have included snapshots of the iOS 7 key functions. However let's take a look at the goodies....... LOCK SCREEN: the new lock screen takes the personality of your wallpaper. Its not a far departure from what's available on android jellybean. HOME SCREEN This is the new home screen in iOS 7. Apple redesigned all of its icons for this major update, including Mail, Settings, iTunes, Game Center, Photos, Safari and more. NOTIFICATION CENTER The new Notification Center in iOS 7, activated by...

The Blackberry Executive was quoted in an interview with IBN live saying "The service is coming to Android this summer. but summer as per North America, where it remains till september" .  This is no longer news however it reaffirms the fact that Blackberry is still interested in sharing some of their goodies with other platforms, many peo...
